Nickname: JoeT Real Name: Yong Lu

This webpage is intended to address and refute false allegations that have circulated within the Vancouver and Calgary poker communities concerning an individual known as “JoeT.”

In March 2025, an anonymous text message was sent to approximately 30 members of an online poker club, accusing four individuals of cheating and collusion. The accused included the club owner—who is widely regarded as the foundation of the club and, notably, its largest net losing player—as well as three other long-standing winning players.

All four individuals have established reputations within the Vancouver poker community. One of them has over ten years of experience playing live poker in both Vancouver and Calgary, and none had previously been associated with accusations of unethical play.

Following an internal review, the club owner uncovered evidence that strongly suggested JoeT was responsible for sending the anonymous message. When initially confronted, JoeT denied any involvement, expressed complete trust in the club owner, and stated his intention to continue participating in both online and live games hosted by the club.

As additional evidence emerged, reinforcing suspicions of his involvement, JoeT’s position changed significantly. He began asserting that cheating was occurring within the club and presented what he described as supporting evidence. However, the players referenced in this material stated that they had never suspected collusion or unfair play and did not believe any cheating had taken place. As a result, the claims lacked logical consistency and corroboration.

After discussions involving JoeT, the four accused players, and members who received the anonymous message, JoeT was excluded from the Vancouver poker community. Despite this, it has since been brought to the club owner’s attention that JoeT continues to repeat these allegations within the Edmonton and Calgary areas.

This website exists to document the facts, address inconsistencies in those claims, and publicly refute accusations that have caused unnecessary reputational harm. The goal is not retaliation, but transparency and the restoration of trust for those who were falsely accused.

Additional evidence and documentation will be presented below for readers who wish to review the matter in greater detail.

In the picture above, JoeT said this is evidence of the two players “Lionela” and “CanadaGambol” of cheating and trying to squeeze players out with trash hands. However the other three players “haca,” “Unzershtick,” and “WMhaha” said that they did not feel any suspicion after playing with the two accused players for almost a year online, nor did they feel any suspicion during this hand.

In the video above, JoeT is confronted directly by the club owner. During the first ten minutes of the recording, JoeT repeatedly denies having sent the anonymous text message that was distributed to more than thirty members of the group.

The most compelling evidence arises from a critical oversight: when the anonymous message was sent, JoeT failed to include his own phone number. As a result, when asked to provide proof that he had personally received the message, he was unable to do so. Instead, he contacted other players to obtain screenshots of the text and attempted to present them as if they were messages he had received himself.

For several more minutes, JoeT continued to deny responsibility. Eventually, however, his position changed abruptly. He abandoned his denial and instead shifted to strongly accusing the four players of cheating. He then attempted to assemble and present supporting evidence, which is shown in the image above this text. This material failed to present a coherent or convincing case and did not substantiate his claims.

Later in the video, the club owner raises the issue of an outstanding $5,000 debt owed by JoeT as a result of losses incurred within the club. This context further called into question JoeT’s motives for making such serious accusations, particularly given the timing and lack of credible supporting evidence.

By the end of the recording, the situation is fully exposed in front of multiple club members. Several players, upon understanding the facts, openly criticized JoeT’s actions. Since this incident, JoeT has not been seen participating in Vancouver-area casino or poker activities.
